I start going East, 2012
Plexiglas, sandblasted text, inkjet prints

2/7

In the text og photo installation I start going East four fragmented memories of a place are recounted. The place is not named explicitly in the texts, but can be interpreted as the occupied Palestinian territories, where the protagonist reflects upon experiences and encounters, which takes the character deeper into the unknown and at times surreal. The texts mix the auto biografical with fiction. The texts are presented as sandblasted foil-text on four sheets of plexiglas (70x100 cm), which appear to levitate in the room 20 cm from the wall. On the wall behind the textual works, coloured surfaces in four shades of green are mounted behind plexiglas, one for each of the texts.

I Start Going East is supported by the Danish Arts Council.
